Metal Alloys
Most gold and platinum is alloyed with other metals to make it stronger. An alloy is a mixture
of two or more metals formed by melting them together. Alloyed mountings can normally be thinner
and more delicate than non-alloyed mountings because strength is added through the alloying
process.
