	Naturals Naturals are traces of the natural crystal face of the rough diamond that are left behind by the diamond cutter to retain diamond weight. Small naturals in the girdle region may have a slight effect on the quality of cut, but have no impact on the clarity. Naturals that penetrate the surface into the interior of the stone affect the diamond's clarity.

	Nicks Nicks are cuts in the girdle area and are usually wedge-shaped. They are the result of mechanical stresses.
