The new limited edition Mille Miglia Chrono Limited Edition 2009 represents a return to historical roots. Inspired by an iconic model within the collection, the first ever featuring the famous rubber strap designed after the Dunlop Racing tire from the 60s, the newcomer plays on classic shapes, optimal readability and understated elegance. The latest Mille Miglia chronograph features a 42 mm-diameter case on the famous natural rubber Dunlop Racing strap. Graced with a ruthenium dial bearing the signature red and white race logo, this sporty model is driven by a mechanical chronograph movement chronometer-certified by the COSC.
A tribute to one of the star models in the collection, the new Mille Miglia Chrono Limited Edition 2009 is a contemporary expression of a best seller from the late 1990s. This updated and more boldly assertive interpretation is entirely in line with the timepieces that have made their mark on the history of the Mille Miglia – the legendary race running from Brescia to Rome and back with which Chopard has been associated since 1988. On its black sunburst dial the new Mille Miglia Chrono Limited Edition 2009 displays hours, minutes and small seconds as well as the date which is displayed between 4 and 5 o’clock. It also features 12-hour and 30-minute chronograph counters. A tachometric scale framing the dial, superluminova-coated numerals and hands and a red-tipped central chronograph second hand harmoniously round off this model and guarantee perfect readability.
Devotees of such fine mechanisms will be delighted to note that the heart of the Mille Miglia Chrono Limited Edition 2009 beats to the cadence of a mechanical self-winding chronograph movement that is chronometer-certified by the COSC – a sure token of reliability and precision. Oscillating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, it has an approximately 42-hour power reserve. This mechanical movement is endowed with a stop seconds system enabling extremely accurate time setting.
The Mille Miglia Chrono Limited Edition 2009 comes on a natural black rubber strap – featuring a 1960s Dunlop Racing tyre-tread motif – fitted with a pin buckle. To honour the 2009 edition of “la corsa più bella del Mondo” most exclusively the new Mille Miglia Chrono Classic is issued in a steel 2009-piece limited edition. |
