More about Raymond Weil Tango Watches

Raymond Weil's watch collections are simultaneously modern and classical, embellished with luxurious touches like sapphire cabochons on the crown, luminescent pearls on the dial, and ideal-cut diamonds on the bezel. In recent years, the watchmaker has moved further upscale with introductions of mechanical movements and complications. Usually known for naming its collections for Operas, with the Tango, Raymond Weil, expresses the passion of the dance in its popular series of watches. The Tango dance originated in lower-class districts of Buenos Aires. The music derived from the fusion of various forms of music from Europe. Initially it was just one of the many dances, but it soon became popular throughout society. Tango consists of a variety of styles that developed in different regions and eras of Argentina and Uruguay as well as in other locations around the world. The dance developed in response to many cultural elements, such as the crowding of the venue and even the fashions in clothing. The styles are mostly danced in either open embrace, where lead and follow have space between their bodies, or close embrace, where the lead and follow connect either chest-to-chest (Argentine tango) or in the upper thigh, hip area (American and International tango). No other dance immediately inspires thoughts of passion, desire, fervor and deep overwhelming emotion. Raymond Weil's Tango follows the tradition of the Tango dance with its emotive, passionate watch styling.
