Stührling Original proudly presents from the ever-fashionable Labyrinthian Series, and following in the footsteps of the Saturnalia, one of the most celebrated watch-models in Stührling's history, the Brumalia, a skeletonized pure mechanical timepiece!
Marked by its spectacular 45-millimeter round case with its intricate double-milled bezel, the Brumalia offers a veritable feast of clairvoyance into the art and tradition of horological wonders. Peering through the slightly domed looking glass made of Krysterna™, you will be astonished by the inner-workings of the colossal 17-jewel “pure” mechanical engine revealed by the skeletonized dial. With its extra large main-spring clearly visible at the five o'clock position and the oversized balance wheel beating in all its glory at the rate of 18,000 vibrations per hour for all to see, the mesmerizing aura of Brumalia is accentuated by hand-engraved scroll-work on what little remains of the engine plates. Strengthening its persona is the striking bridge on the left side of its face arching across the small-seconds sub-dial. And rounding out the facial look of Brumalia are the individually applied Arabic numeral hour-markers and the sharply skeletonized Dauphine style hands. The dessert for this feast is the perfectly appointed onion-style crown flanked by box-like guard rails makes for the ideal companion to this masterpiece case!
The exquisite look of the skeletonized and decorated movement in concert with the refined double milled step-design bezel makes the Brumalia a dressy and elegant timepiece fit for any formal gathering. In addition to its striking presence, the Brumalia represents an anomaly for Stührling Original in that it hosts a 'pure mechanical' movement (caliber ST-90911)! There is no rotor attached to the movement providing 'self-winding.' The Brumalia epitomizes watch-making the old-fashioned way…you must manually wind the crown to keep it running; but have no fear, the spectacular 17-jewel mechanical engine that powers this festival on your wrist can hold more than thirty hours of power reserve on its large mainspring.
Once you've completely taken in the look of Brumalia from the front and have been sufficiently impressed, just flip it over and take a look from the back! Talk about mesmerizing, the view through the Krysterna™ crystal in the screwed in exhibition case-back is truly breath-taking. The real star of the Brumalia, the large oversized mechanical movement is laced with hand-engraved scrollwork and dotted by blued steel screws and ruby jewels.
Water-resistant to fifty meters, the Brumalia is mounted on a 24-millimeter wide alligator embossed genuine French leather strap appointed with a push-button dual deployant clasp. Removed links WILL BE SENT WITH THE WATCH. Sizing is not an exact science; bracelet links vary in size and removing too many links or too few links may make the fit too small or too big. We therefore cannot guarantee the length of the bracelet or that it will be equivalent to the specified length. As a result, many of our customers take their watches to a QUALIFIED watchmaker to do the sizing with their watch in hand; expect to pay in the region of $5 - $25 for this service.
Watch bracelets that Gemnation resizes are still returnable. Unfortunately if an outside party is utilized to resize the strap, we can no longer accept the watch for return or exchange. Unforeseen circumstances may prevent us from resizing the watch bracelet. If this is the case, we will notify you before shipping the watch. Sizing requests are usually completed within 24-48 hours. If overnight shipping is selected in addition to bracelet sizing, please allow for additional time, or contact us beforehand to provide us with sufficient time to accommodate your request.

About Stuhrling
Stuhrling Original timepieces are attractively priced mechanical self-winding watches worn by discerning style-conscious men and women. The company traces its roots back to late 19th century Switzerland, and to master watchmaker Max Stuhrling, the protege of Louis Audemars (of Audemars Piguet). Stuhrling, despite his immense talents, was a man who eschewed luxury, and despite making wristwatches that cost several times the average man's salary, he endeavored to manufacture mechanical watches that would be affordable to most. By the mid twentieth century, the Stuhrling family had become engaged in other interests, but they never lost their forefather's love and respect for watchmaking. The 1990's surge in mechanical watchmaking popularity, led Max Stuhrling IV (great grandson of the founder), to re-establish the legacy of watchmaking excellence.
