Deployant Clasp
The deployant clasp is a three-hinged folding clasp that appears hidden when closed. When the
deployant clasp is opened, it allows the wearer to place the watch on the wrist without any
difficulty. Often mistakenly refered to as a deployment clasp, it is easy to see why such
confusion exists. The deployant clasp is the invention of Cartier; its name is derived from
the French word deployer, itself derived from the Old French despleier, and it deriving from
the Latin displicare, which means to scatter or more appropriately, to fold, i.e. a folding
clasp.
Depth
Depth refers to the height of the diamond and is often expressed as depth percentage indicating
the depth relative to the girdle diameter.

Dispersion
Flashes of color, or fire, particularly when viewing a diamond in strong, direct light.
