Glossary
Measurements
The dimensions of a stone presented as either a range of values or a precise value. Measurements are
shown in milimeters unless otherwise indicated.
Mechanical Watch
A watch movement that uses gears and levers driven by a hand-wound spring.
Movement
The assembly that comprises the main timekeeping mechanism of a wristwatch. The size, thickness and
complexity of the movement, together with the number of jewels used as durable bearings, determine the
movement's cost. Smaller and thinner movements tend to be more expensive than less compact movements.
