Perpetual Calendar
Available as a feature on some of the world's most prestigious watches, this type of calendar
adjusts automatically for months of different lengths and includes February 29 in leap years.
Some perpetual calendars can maintain accurate dates for as long as 400 years.
Platinum
Platinum is a whitish metal that is rarer than gold. Platinum will resist breaks, chips and
cracks better than gold because of its higher density and strength. Platinum is used to create
the most secure settings for diamonds.
Polish
A grade given to the external finish of a stone. Polish grades range from poor (the lowest),
to fair, good, very good and excellent/ideal. Polish is crucial for maximum brilliance of a
diamond. Diamonds with excellent polish and symmetry will command a higher price than diamonds
with even very good symmetry and excellent polish (and vice-versa). These diamonds are extremely
rare especially because of the extra diamond weight sacrificed in maintaining such pristine polish.
